Sydney started her career in the beauty industry with one thing in mind - customer service - it’s where she shines and remains her top priority!
Sydney started as an apprentice at age 21, after realizing all the opportunities that were in the field, under David Dior of D’ Allens Salon. She credits him for teaching her a lot about the business side of the salon world. It wasn’t long before she took a leap of faith and opened her first small space in Phenix City, after seeing a need for this type of business in her hometown. A year after that opening, she purchased the spot that is now SSOB’s forever home located on Opelika Road.

Sydney has two lively little girls, Jules and Jennings, that keep her busy, and a husband, Christopher, that proudly serves in the US Airforce Band of the West. When she is not working, you can find her spending time with her family, doing all the outdoor things, eating and shopping locally, and listening to good music!
“The old saying goes “do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life”, and I couldn’t agree more. Being a stylist/owner has brought all my passions to life. I can serve customers whom I love dearly in a space that I decorated and designed piece by piece from anywhere you can think of, ranging from secondhand stores - to Anthropologie - to Target. I get to create beautiful hair and help customers feel as pretty on the outside as they are on the inside; but also I get to develop close bonds, from doing first haircuts to styling hair for senior prom (those are the happy moments) - to shaving ahead before the chemo takes all of her hair. I build strong relationships with some amazing women and families. Isn’t that what life is all about?! I am strong in my faith. God made me a “people person” and this job gives me the opportunity to exercise my gift daily. How awesome is that ?!”
KATIE HUGHES

Katie was born and raised in Columbus, Georgia. She’s had a passion for hair and make-up starting at a young age. She was the go-to hair and make-up girl for her school from prom and homecoming to getting the cheer team ready for games and competitions - and all the braids for the softball team. Katie attended Columbus State for a semester before an Apprenticeship opportunity became available. She has been doing hair in salon for 5 years and became a master cosmetologist in 2022.
Katie’s favorite services are special occasion, wedding-hair, and make-up. She also really enjoys any blonding service.
Outside of work Katie loves being a mom to her two sons. She is also a huge animal lover and has a passion for rescuing. She loves concerts, thrifting, the beach, and soaking up all the with her family and friends.
Katie is very excited to start this next chapter of her career with The Sydney Brand!

Hey, everyone! My name is Mariah. I am so excited to be part of Sydney’s on First. I have been in the hair industry since 2018! Hair is my passion and I love getting to create masterpieces for all of my clients.
My husband and I moved to Columbus, Georgia in April of 2022. We have a soon-to-be one-year-old daughter. In our free time, we love to go on walks and play outside.
I am so excited to have you in my chair and make your hair dreams come true!

My name is Alice Ingram, and I attended Paul Mitchell The School Esani where I learned to become a Master Cosmetologist. I’m a big fan of blonding techniques + dimensional looks, as well as formal + special occasion makeup looks.

Hello, hello, my name is Faith Choron. From the small town of Beauregard, where I live with my two favorite guys! I have been married to my best friend, my husband, Justin, for 4 years-although we’ve been together for 12 years! I have the cutest and sweetest little 3-year-old boy, Fisher Gray. He is definitely a momma's boy!

I originally went to school for nursing, worked at IMA for 6 years then decided to go back to school to pursue a passion that was once only a side hustle. I graduated from cosmetology in December 2022 from SUSCC. From a young age, I always knew I was made to help people and although I have left the medical field, I am helping people in a new exciting way! I am so excited and honored to be a part of SSOB and the amazing group of ladies there!

When I’m not working, I am ALWAYS with my family! I love everything outdoors, traveling to new places, the lake and fishing, any project, painting, and all the artsy stuff! I’m a lover of all things and always down for new adventures!

Hey guys! My name is Madison Usry! I am 26 years old, and I am married to my amazing husband, Brett. Together, we have a beautiful son, Kohen.
I have been doing hair in a salon setting now for 5 years. Before that I did special occasion hair and makeup. Making people feel and look their best has always been my thing and always will be.
I’m so excited to call Sydney’s Blow Dry Bar and Lounge my new home, and I can’t wait to catch up with all of my clients and meet all the new ones to come! It is truly such a beautiful space, with equally beautiful women to serve you!
