OWNER, MASTER STYLIST
Sydney started her career in the beauty industry with one thing in mind - customer service - it’s where she shines and remains her top priority!
Sydney started as an apprentice at age 21, after realizing all the opportunities that were in the field, under David Dior of D’ Allens Salon. She credits him for teaching her a lot about the business side of the salon world. It wasn’t long before she took a leap of faith and opened her first small space in Phenix City, after seeing a need for this type of business in her hometown. A year after that opening, she purchased the spot that is now SSOB’s forever home located on Opelika Road.
Sydney has two lively little girls, Jules and Jennings, that keep her busy, and a husband, Christopher, that proudly serves in the US Airforce Band of the West. When she is not working, you can find her spending time with her family, doing all the outdoor things, eating and shopping locally, and listening to good music!
“The old saying goes “do what you love, and you will never work a day in your life”, and I couldn’t agree more. Being a stylist/owner has brought all my passions to life. I can serve customers whom I love dearly in a space that I decorated and designed piece by piece from anywhere you can think of, ranging from secondhand stores - to Anthropologie - to Target. I get to create beautiful hair and help customers feel as pretty on the outside as they are on the inside; but also I get to develop close bonds, from doing first haircuts to styling hair for senior prom (those are the happy moments) - to shaving ahead before the chemo takes all of her hair. I build strong relationships with some amazing women and families. Isn’t that what life is all about?! I am strong in my faith. God made me a “people person” and this job gives me the opportunity to exercise my gift daily. How awesome is that ?!”
Meg was born and raised in Alexander City, AL, the home of Lake Martin. She graduated from Benjamin Russell High School in 2014 and went straight to Central Alabama Community College to start Cosmetology school. After graduating she moved to Auburn, AL, and worked full-time at EAMC while doing hair and makeup for weddings on the side. In 2019, Meg decided to move to Columbus, Ga, and quickly found her salon home here at SSOB.
In 2021, she became our Social Media Specialist. So, if you ever wonder who’s behind the camera, it’s probably Meg! She finds making reels and graphics for our social media to be so fun and likes to the creative aspect!
Although Meg has always had a love for all things beauty, her ultimate passion is hair extensions. She loves being able to bring back the self-confidence in her customers. She says, “It’s all about the smile on their face when they look in the mirror to see their new hair!” She is Bellami Extension certified in 5 different methods. MASTER STYLIST
Katie grew up in Maine, yes Maine!!! After attending college in Maine for business, she worked in a salon as a receptionist/assistant before deciding to attend cosmetology school. Katie has been in the hair profession for 22 years and stays up to date with the latest color trends and haircuts for women, men, and children.
Katie and her family relocated to Phenix City for her husband’s job. Katie has been married for 18 years and has 2 boys. She lives for her family and loves to travel around watching her boys play travel sports!
Catherine grew up in Columbus, GA, and has always had a passion for hair and makeup. After attending the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC for a year, she moved home and began pursuing her career in cosmetology. Catherine worked as an assistant in a salon while going through school, and she graduated from Columbus Technical College in 2021 as a Master Cosmetologist. She loves all things color and blonding, and her favorite part of being a stylist is meeting new people and forming relationships with them.
She enjoys listening to music, traveling, working, and hanging out with friends and family. You can often find her at Fetch Dog Park in Midtown Columbus with her Belgian Malinois, Ally.

MASTER STYLIST
Valline Marie Maddox started in the hair industry right out of high school in 2002, assisting many different stylists in the area. She attended Rivertown School of Beauty and finished her license with an apprenticeship. She is in love with doing hair and has been at Sydney’s for just over a year.
Originally from Maryland, this proud wife is not short of dependents with two daughters of her own and three stepchildren. She also has a dog and two cats. With her beautiful busy life, it’s probably good that her life motto is “Life is too short to be so serious”.

Sydney says, “Honestly, Valline is one of the best humans alive, she'll make you laugh 24-7, but is as genuine as they come.”
MASTER STYLIST
Danyaul graduated from beauty school in April 2015. She truly has a passion for this industry, and it shows in her work! In 2016, she joined The Beauty Shop in Columbus, Georgia where she assisted a senior stylist for about a year to build her confidence in the industry then transitioned to the floor full-time to take clients of her own. While assisting, she learned techniques that include barbering, fades, blonding, coloring, and hair cutting. Danyaul says, "I am so thankful and blessed to be a part of Sydney's team!"
Danyaul was born in Savannah, Georgia but she has been in Phenix City, Alabama since she was three years old. She is married and loves Jesus and all things outdoors, especially the beach. She attends church regularly and has two bonus sons, Aj (15) and Noah (13), plus two biological sons, Brayden (12) and Waylon (3).

ASSOCIATE STYLIST
Lyndon was born and raised in Smiths/Phenix City and graduated from Smiths Station High School. After attending Southern Union for nursing, she changed her career path when she became the "go-to" friend for hair, nails, and makeup application. Lyndon decided to pursue cosmetology and is thankful to be under Sydney’s wing to develop her career. When she's not with Sydney, she can be found at weddings making over the bride.

ASSOCIATE STYLIST
Cami started working part-time at Sydney's where she helped with cleaning and organizing the salon. She quickly fell in love with the upbeat work environment and was ecstatic when offered the opportunity to join the team as an apprentice under Meg.
Cami loves all things art and looks forward to being able to use her creativity as a hairstylist. She loves spending time with friends and family, traveling, decorating, and listening to music.

MASTER STYLIST
Katelyn was born and raised in Opelika, AL. She worked in the medical field on the administrative side for six years before becoming a stay-at-home mother to her two children (at the time) for 2 years. She just completed school for a cosmetology career and is looking forward to becoming full-time in her trade. She’s been doing bridal hair and makeup for several years and loves seeing the look on brides' faces on their wedding day. Helping people feel their best is such a privilege to Kate and she wouldn’t have it any other way!
Kate has three beautiful daughters, Kamdyn, Kennedy, and Kali, and they are her world. She’s been married for almost 5 years, and she loves organizing and cleaning and is somewhat of a neat freak. She enjoys traveling and spending whatever free time she has with her family.

MASTER STYLIST
Heaven graduated from cosmetology school in 2022 from Southern Union. She worked as a student for a year and joined Sydney's in June of 2022 to begin her full-time career. She has been doing event hair and makeup since she was 16!
Heaven and her family live in Valley, AL. She is newly married with a daughter. She loves spending time with her family and traveling.

Johnna is an army wife and relocated here with her husband this year. She has three fur babies and lived in several different states that she would love to talk to you about!
She has been in the industry for nine years and loves making those who sit in her chair happy! She loves meeting new people and hearing their stories.
Johnna also enjoys the outdoors, whether it's hiking, kayaking, or gardening. She also enjoys reading and joining social gatherings.

BUSINESS MANAGER
Tiffany has been a client at Sydney’s for nearly 10 years! She said, “I constantly found myself looking for any reason to come into the salon - a quick trim, color change, blowout, or a sale in the boutique would have me running in nearly every week.” After many years of working in “Corporate America” in Regional Sales and Human Resource Management, she jumped at the opportunity to become a part of our team.
If there’s a spreadsheet to be lost in, planning to do, or something exciting to brainstorm you can find her there! As our Business Manager, Tiffany is responsible for all of the structure that exists here at The Sydney Brand. You will find her organizing & goal setting, managing the team, making sense out of chaos on the daily, communicating with our clients, and all things in between to help Sydney’s vision come to life!
Tiffany loves organization and processes *almost* as much as she loves Saturday coffee dates & shopping, scrolling through Instagram for the latest fashion, beauty, and home decor trends, sunshine, any body of water, and a good book! More than anything though, she loves binge-watching favorite shows with her sweet husband Gavin [any FRIENDS fans?], long seasons of baseball with her son Jake & trying to keep up with their 2 [not so miniature] miniature dachshunds - Charlie & Sam.

BRIDAL COORDINATOR
Angela Copeland has been a client of Sydney’s Shoppe of Beauty since 2013 and has often considered herself to be an honorary “Sydney’s Girl at Heart.” She officially joined The Sydney Brand in 2021 as the Shoppe’s Bridal Coordinator.
Angela is looking forward to working with our bridal parties to make sure they have a seamless experience on their Big Day.
Professionally, Angela is a full-time teacher at Smiths Station Junior High School where she teaches Career Exploration and enjoys encouraging young people.
Personally, Angela enjoys shopping, crafting, cooking, wedding planning, and spending time with her husband Bubba, son Carter, two daughters AbbyKate and Ally that fill her time with family projects, Netflix, cooking together... and lots of Diet Coke and dry shampoo.

Tiffanie joined The Sydney Brand in the summer of 2020 and is passionate about helping women entrepreneurs make an impact!
She is responsible for expanding our online presence through multiple redesigned websites, booking site, and product store, as well as the design and management of email marketing for The Sydney Brand. And we are thrilled to have Tiffanie on our team to help us stay on brand to serve our community best.

I have been a client at Sydney’s for a couple of years and have always loved everything that Sydney has done with her salon. I needed a change in my life, career wise. When I saw the chance to join this amazing team, I took it. These are the best women to be around and each one of them are so inspiring.
As Client Coordinator, I am responsible for helping the stylists and all of our wonderful clients that exists here at The Sydney Brand. You will find me greeting and checking out clients, organizing the boutique, and helping you find the best products for your hair!
I love helping people solve any issue. I love coffee from The Mustard Seed, Fireside and Lover are the best. I love spending time with family and friends, scrolling on Pinterest, shopping at Ulta and Target, and getting my nails done. I love watching anything Netflix created shows such as: Love Is Blind and Perfect Match. And I have a corgi named Dolly that is the most precious thing ever!
